Cailey Follet is a writer, director, and producer.
Originally growing up at a haunted boarding school campus in Wheeling, West Virginia, Cailey’s family relocated for a year to the big, big city of Focșani, Romania. This is where she first experienced important things like Vampires, Castles, and the TV show, Courage the Cowardly Dog. For their final move, Cailey’s family settled in picturesque Cary, North Carolina. There, she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning her BFA in Visual Art with double minors in American Studies and Screenwriting.
As a comedy writer, Cailey was selected to be a part of UCB Maude’s inaugural Fresh Faces team. Currently, she writes for UCB Maude’s Rodeo Baby, showcasing her specific voice monthly in front of sold-out crowds. She’s also written and/or performed sketch, improv, and standup around the city, including at UCB, The Pack Theater, and the now-defunct Second City LA and iO West.
Her narrative work spans genres, but is all connected by her sketch-honed pithy writing and her deep love of creating three dimensional characters that all have a little humor in them. Most recently, she wrote, directed, and produced a horror short that will be going on the festival circuit next year. Currently, she is in pre-production on her next short, a comedy body horror and in the midst of writing a dark comedic feature, inspired by Sunset Boulevard, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, and Cailey’s whirlwind meeting of LA Icon, Angelyne.
Cailey Follet is a member of the PGA and The Animation Guild.
